***Kraft Cheese Recall***

Kraft Foods Group INC. is recalling some of its cheese brands, ABC News reported Friday.
The recall is voluntary. It affects some of its Kraft and Polly-O string cheese. The products are being recalled because they may change color and spoil before the expiration date listed on the packaging.
The company said Friday that the voluntary recall affected about 735,000 cases that were shipped to customers throughout the US. The recalled cheese was not distributed in Canada.
What you need to know about the Kraft recall
There are no codes to check, but Kraft says the affected cheese has "Best When Used By" dates from Oct. 25 through Feb. 11.
Reason for the recall
Kraft said that it initiated the recall after getting reports from customers about the cheese going back. The company says it stopped production as well as distribution of the cheese pending an investigation. The products that are subject of the recall were all produced in Campbell, New York, about 90 minutes south of Rochester.
Kraft Facebook statement
On its Facebook page, Kraft stated, "Kraft Foods announced today it is voluntarily recalling some varieties of Kraft and Polly-O String Cheese and String Cheese Twists products with a Best When Used By date of OCT 25 2013 to FEB 11 2014. "
Kraft stated in a press release, "As you may know, these are natural cheeses that contain no added preservatives, and it’s not unusual for cheese to spoil over time. But in this situation, we saw spoilage occurring before the “Best When Used By” Date. That is not acceptable to us. So we knew the right thing to do for our consumers was to voluntarily recall the affected product."
What should I do if I have the recalled cheese?
Kraft says you should not eat the cheese but return it to the store where you bought it for an exchange or refund.
How do I find more information about the recall?
You can call Kraft Foods Consumer Relations at 1-800-816-9432 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. (EST.)
