This weekend we find ourselves in Winter Haven, Florida visiting the popular LegoLand. Weather was perfect. Nice and warm, just a slight breeze. I was excited, as I never had the chance to visit this theme park. Living in Jacksonville, Florida most of my life, getting further south where all the fun stuff is located is quite a drive. So, us moving to Naples was a great move, as it put us in closer driving distance to theme parks and other fun attractions. That being said I am huge fan of Lego's and the Lego's brand. I grew up building castles and dream houses with all types of Legos. So I was ready to unleash my inner child. First thing you see when approaching is the gates and overhead figures of popular Lego people.
After entering the park you run across the Grand Carousel. One huge double decker carousel with loads of different kinds of horses. It was made for both adults and children in mind! My hubby and me took two of their horses out for a spin. The staff was very pleasant and even told my hubby to be careful as the horses tended to "buck" and "bite".
After that fun spin around we decided to get on the Island In The Sky. This ride lifts you 150 feet in the air and slowly rotates you around to see the whole park, while giving you background and announcing the coming of a hotel being built on site. Which will have 150 rooms! I wonder if they will build the beds out of Lego's? That would be a neat idea. The view was breathtaking and absolutely beautiful!
Next we wandered over to the Fresh for Florida Greenhouse to check out some of Florida's agriculture. We learned a ton about the different produce and grains that grow here in Florida. Also we got to see the wonderful, inventive ways Model Builders (Legoland Builders) created different things.
Farm Growing Corn
Hubby Milking The Baby Cow
I Got To Milk The Momma Cow
The Beehive
Waterfalls
Florida Produce
Let me explain this again. Everything above (the farm, produce, bees) are ALL made of Legos! Yes. How talented are they? I was amazed. However the best is yet to come! Wait until you guys see this. This is the most amazing part of Legoland. Also the most unbelievable thing I have ever seen when it comes to Legos! Keep in mind ALL these below are all created WITH Legos.
Mini Land
The Space Center and Shuttle
The Statue Of Liberty
The White House and Marching Soldiers
The Mirage In Las Vegas
MGM Grand In Las Vegas
Tropicana In Las Vegas
The Steam Ship (it floating around the bay)
Little Havana
Golden Gate Bridge
Not only did they have mini cities, they had characters made of Legos placed around the park!
I also found my a new car in LegoLand. Yes you guessed it...all made of Legos!
While we was walking around, we decided to take a break and catch the NFPA Big Test Live Show. Basically it was a live show about a group of five volunteers teaching children fire safety. I loved it and found it quite hilarious. I enjoyed how the show got on a kids level and really got them involved. They also educated children on fire safety and what to do in an emergency.
Shortly after we headed over the Wells Fargo Fun Town 4D Theater and caught the Chima Movie. It was a nice break and you would have been amazed how quiet it was. You would have never guessed how packed it was full of kids. They were so engrossed in the film, not a peep was heard.
Now we were ready to hit a few rides. One was loads of fun. Lost Kingdom Of Adventure was a fun laser shooting game.
Hubby and I were blasting away at everything that moved. The fun part was the ride counted all the shots that hit the mark and kept score. So you were able to compete with your car mate. Yup I won. I am a certified Mummy Blaster!
Day One Of LegoLand was exciting and tons of fun. I am excited for tomorrow to explore the things we missed today. So keep watching out for Day Two of my exciting adventure!
