Health Insurance
Did you know that 50.7 million in America people have NO health insurance? We are included in that number. For my health care I depend on doctors that go by my income and my specialists see me on referral for free. My dh works anywhere from 40 - 60 hours a week and his job offers NO insurance of any kind. So basically we get sick the emergency room is our doctors office. Dh went to get his eyes checked because he wears contacts and he needed some more. He finds out he has small holes in the back of his eyes and has to see a specialist, which kind of took my breath away. How are we going to afford this? We have no health insurance and specialists cost alot of money. So I went searching online comparing health insurance companies and I am blown away at the prices. I am just speechless on the amount of money it costs to get just basic coverage. Basic coverage isn't going to work for us because he has to have vision coverage as well. I find it amazing that he works so hard, so many hours and his company doesn't provide any health options at all. We need to go to Canada's universal health care because this just doesn't make any sense at all. How can 50.7 million people have no health care coverage at all?? The government puts all this money in the craziest things, but when it comes to the health of the American people we get none. I would think that would be important, right up there with education. Sigh I just don't know what to do. He is going to file his taxes today so he can go to the specialist which just screws other areas that money was going to go to. I am just tired of robbing Peter to pay Paul in this economy.
