Med Alert Devices

That is my "new" med alert bracelet. Long gone are the days where you have sport around the bulky silver (or pay a huge price for gold) bracelets or necklaces. I have been dragging my heels for months to get one cause I simply to do not like them. One I don't like wearing bracelets much and the necklace/bracelet scream hey look at me I am sick. Ok that last part is just my crazy mind, or maybe its not. So last week I called up Walgreens to price the necklace, how much it would be with engraving on the back. I can't just get the damn necklace, nope I have to get my name, emergency contacts, and my files numbers on the back. Gee thanks doctor for making everything I do complicated.  So being me, I sent Will on this journey. One because I was sick that day, secondly because I haven't tortured him a few weeks and hes getting a little too comfortable. Yes I am one of those women that will ask her man to pick up some heavy duty Always pads, with wings, just to watch him squirm and to giggle as the panic sets in. I figure we are even because at the beginning of our relationship I had to brave the checkout line with boxes of condoms and the stares of the cashier that probably thought I was either a slut or working the streets hardcore.

So after sending him out on this mission, he comes back with that. Looking at it I was like what the hell is that. I know that Walgreens have to send the necklaces out to be engraved and it takes up to 2 - 3 weeks to come back. Then I realized how flipping old I am getting because this is the new "thang" on the market for med alert wearers. So yeah I am a dinosaur even though I consider myself technology smart.  Anyways after fiddling with it I discovered that above bracelet is awesome. It plugs into your computer, it installs itself, and bam you have your whole life, medical history on your computer screen.  I must say, this is a handy tool for the doctors, and nurses at the hospital or office. Just think the paperwork (and trees) you will save. Want to know my medical history, plug the usb cord up. Want to know about all my medical tests, plug it up. Want to know about my meds, dosages, and my family history, plug this baby up. It has areas for next of kin, contacts you want notified, blood type, meds, medical history, medical tests, and all kinds of other info. All for the low price of $19.99!! Yeah I was surprised also. The regular bracelets/necklaces are 16.99, not including shipping and handling, and holds only 5 lines of info on the back. For a few dollars more I am getting my whole medical history and life on an easy, doctor accessible usb device that can be plugged up to any computer.

I highly recommend it to anyone stuck having to wear med alert devices! You can pick one up at Walgreens and here's a link to check them out I Can Save Your Life One Day
